CUSTOM ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS Camera ready artwork
is required for all printed products. Our fully staffed art department can
supply completed artwork for whatever you wish to have printed, engraved
or embroidered. Proofs are submitted at each step. We are happy to accept
your camera ready art or electronic file as specified below. As products
and printability differ, it is recommended that you call first for
specifications prior to creating your artwork. We reserve the right to
edit art according to our printing capabilities. Any editing to a visible
degree will be proofed to you.
REQUIREMENTS •P.M.T., Stat, Slick Sheet; 300
d.p.i. (or higher) laser prints, or clean black and white illustration.
Some ink jet prints may be acceptable depending on resolution. Enlargement
not recommended. Faxes, business cards, letterheads and photocopies are
accepted but not considered camera ready. Color separations on paper are
not desired, prefer electronic file, or art charges may apply. •Film
Positives, Vellums (toner must be opaque) To Size, E-up for direct
printing, E-down for transfers. Copier and overhead transparencies not
acceptable. •Halftone Resolution: line screens vary depending on final
substrate •Halftone range 7-70% •Call for line screen, line weight,
trap and screen angles specifics as these specifics vary depending on
process and application! •It is difficult to have written
specifications for final size determination. We will gladly supply you
with finished image size requirements. Feel free to call for more
specifics or with any questions.
ELECTRONIC ART
PREFERRED Hard copy must be supplied. Remember, send a
copy, never send your original files. Sorry we do not accept desktop
publishing, page layout, word processing or presentation documents. We are
PC based .
•VECTOR - preferred method for spot color work Corel Draw 9, Freehand 9.0
(.fhd), Illustrator 9.0 (.ai) listed in order of
preference) Corel Draw users: please “save as” adobe illustrator
(version 9.0 or earlier) pc format. •RASTER - preferred method
for full color Photoshop 6.0 (.psd), or earlier versions.
300 d.p.i at finished size, RGB mode; spot colors must be built in
separate channels for each color. Please supply all imports or scans
even though placed, prefer separately as well. Convert all text to
outlines, (paths or curves). A color print is required on multi color
printing. Some form of color reference is needed to match to, whether it
be a printout or Pantone color specs. We can substitute our stock colors
if color matching is not an issue. Color scans (.tif, .gif, .bmp’s) are
not acceptable as print ready, art charges will apply and will be quoted
up front. Please compress large files using WinZip, Stuffit or
DiskDoubler. Only send necessary files. Label files clearly. E-MAILmbox@doutex.com Please
reference yours sales reps name or file may be misdirected. Include your
company name, your name and phone number with area code. Please do not
e-mail files larger than 15 megabytes. Please fax hard copy or a proof
will be sent to be signed off on. For large files a .jpg (jpeg) file can
be sent for viewing and quoting purposes, but is not considered finished
art. REMOVABLE MEDIA
ACCEPTED PC - floppy disks, CD’s, or Zip
100 & 250 removables. Some PC files may require converting.
All
film art is kept on file for 2 years from last activity, at which time it
is destroyed unless specified otherwise in writing.
